546cowboy 301 #9 Posted November 1, 2014 You know the only time I have ever thought of getting a snowmobile was back in the 70's. Man the snow was bad here in NW Indiana in the 70's. Actually where we used to live that's how my mother got home one time. She was coming home. stopped and got groceries and couldn't get the last 2 miles home. Luckily the neighbor was down at the end of our road where she was stuck and gave her a ride home on his snowmobile. The next morning he came by and took me down to get the groceries out of the truck. The road we lived on had a cut down spot for the road to go through a hill and that thing used to fill up with 8' of snow and the county had to come out with a front-end loader to clear it. There were times the Interstate would drift closed and trap cars and the only way to get to them was with a snowmobile. It just cracks me up when I hear people now say the 6" of snow is bad or that 10 degrees is cold. I can remember it being -25 or colder back then and below zero for a week at a time. Damn we've all got soft these days. Back then we didn't have A/C in the summer either.

Geno 1,928 #13 Posted November 2, 2014 We have started on it. The market doesn't matter, it's not for sale, I'm gonna take her out in the snow.
Digger 66 3,476 #14 Posted November 2, 2014 Our club holds a vintage ride every year . There's a certain camaraderie among the participants , who brings what tools , belts , plugs .Some guys carry enough crap to build another sled trail-side. Cool to see guys & gals riding the Olympique's /Nitro's / Spitfire's I grew up on . Here's one of me & my REV in upstate NY .
