JERSEYHAWG / Glenn 4,487 #1 Posted October 31, 2014 What is prompting this topic again. My newly bought 520. The seat has 2 big splits in it. BUT,,,, its got the armrests to. They (the armrests) are in perfect shape and I like them. So I dont want to replace the seat with another seat with no armrests.....can we get these seats recovered? What can you do to keep the original seat? Been knocking myself out all week, google searching a answer to this question that has been asked a thousand times before. I just did not find and reply that has been a satisfactory answer. I admit,,,, sometimes I get a bit to picky,,,, this is one of those times. Lol ty gents................ I just googled your location upholstery shops and man you are right by the water I bet you can find a place to recover it! yep,,,,, right by the water. Yes, there are a couple close by to. Been here for years. I really never thought about them for wheel horse seat recovers. I can check them out. I can tell you this about them to, because my brother / friends have used them over the years, me to, had them sew some mirror pockets into a California car cover I had for my 73 duster resto mod. Bottom line ,,,,,,,,,,,,,$$ PRICEY $$. Glenn
Fun Engineer 859 #4 Posted November 1, 2014 Glenn Ask around. You may find someone that does this kind of work from home. Generally they are less expensive.
ericj 1,576 #5 Posted November 1, 2014 glenn, bruce cable on here who goes by cable has found some cushions over the years that fit on the 520 seat pan so all you have to do is remove the old rip cushion and maybe buy some new beading and replace cushion. so instead of looking for a complete new seat see if you can find a replacement cushion. you just can't get in a hurry while doing this because you never know when one will appear. it won't have the logo on it but then neither will the replacement seat. a couple of months back i went to a auction and bought a medium and low back seat cushion for $ 5.00 each eric j
