Need fuel cap help

Recommended Posts

forphase1

Hello all. I've got a 1979 c-141 that I umm...lost the gas cap. I ordered what I thought was the proper replacement on Amazon a 'Stens 125-112 Fuel Cap Replaces With Gauge Toro 106945 Simplicity 1704366SM 1704366', however the threads must be different as it won't screw on and stay on. Can anyone direct me to the proper part I need? Thanks.

Odd. I did have the right part number. Wonder why mine isn't working then.

I had the same problem. I bought one off ebay that was supposed to replace the 106945 but it didn't fit the threads.

Thanks for the advice all. I'll go get the genuine Toro part.

Are you sure the float part isn't too long and hitting the bottom of the tank?

Pretty sure. I measured the tank and seem to have just enough room for it. It will try to tighten the go on at an angle and pop off.
