Single stage blower on 520h?

Recommended Posts

scotty

Just wondering if anyone has ever used a 42'' width single stage blower on a 520h with forward swept axle or if anything would even work? Would i have to extend the flag? Its a snow blower set up for the quik tach kind. It doesnt have any model numbers sadly.

Doesn't it have to have a different front pole with a bend in it to clear the axle?   :eusa-think:

I had a 520 w a single. I don't recall having to cut the pole down for my 314. Infact the lift pole wouldn't have anything to do with front tire clearance.

520 with Swept axel needs the pole with the bend in it to clear the front axel when the blower is lifted. Everything else should be the same.

So that's why my pole is bent

Anyone got a pic of what the bend looks like?

There is nothing special to the lift tube.  It is standard and the forward swept axle doesn't interfere with it at all.

They all have a slight bend in it.  Here is a picture

Don't be confused Scotty, they don't all have bends in them.  I have 7 of them, 1 is new old stock I bought last month and none of them has a bend in it except the 1 that I was told was for the swept axle tractors.  :)

Do you know where I could get a lift tube for it then? Or is there a cheaper option?

Just an opinion, but first, why dont you try putting it on. Then see how it fits? And what needs to be done.

I have a single stage also and was considering putting it on the 520 I just got instead of the 416.

This is the kit # Toro suggest using on older blowers with the 520 #81650. I believe it's just a tube that has the bend in it. If it's an older 520 with the straight axel I don't know why you would need it.

You might try putting up an ad in the "trade" section to see if someone will trade you their bent one (assuming they dont need it) for your straight one... If i had one, I would.

The belt should be the same length. The frame was not changed on the forward swept axle tractors so the distance between pulley and motor pulley will be the same. Make sure its sitting in the front mount properly. Also , make sure the belt is routed the right way..... Sometimes with the blower belt, the wrong way ,looks like the way it should be but its not.
