scotty 252 #1 Posted October 29, 2014 Just wondering if anyone has ever used a 42'' width single stage blower on a 520h with forward swept axle or if anything would even work? Would i have to extend the flag? Its a snow blower set up for the quik tach kind. It doesnt have any model numbers sadly.
Forest Road 594 #2 Posted October 29, 2014 It'll work just fine
Geno 1,928 #3 Posted October 29, 2014 Doesn't it have to have a different front pole with a bend in it to clear the axle?
Forest Road 594 #4 Posted October 30, 2014 I had a 520 w a single. I don't recall having to cut the pole down for my 314. Infact the lift pole wouldn't have anything to do with front tire clearance.
MalMac 1,328 #5 Posted October 30, 2014 520 with Swept axel needs the pole with the bend in it to clear the front axel when the blower is lifted. Everything else should be the same.
Forest Road 594 #6 Posted October 30, 2014 So that's why my pole is bent
scotty 252 #8 Posted October 30, 2014 Anyone got a pic of what the bend looks like?
zieg72 209 #9 Posted October 30, 2014 There is nothing special to the lift tube. It is standard and the forward swept axle doesn't interfere with it at all.
zieg72 209 #10 Posted October 30, 2014 They all have a slight bend in it. Here is a picture
scotty 252 #11 Posted October 30, 2014 My lift arm is straight up and down no bend in it. Im confused.
Geno 1,928 #12 Posted October 30, 2014 (edited) Don't be confused Scotty, they don't all have bends in them. I have 7 of them, 1 is new old stock I bought last month and none of them has a bend in it except the 1 that I was told was for the swept axle tractors. MalMac was a Dealer. scotty 252 #13 Posted October 30, 2014 Do you know where I could get a lift tube for it then? Or is there a cheaper option?

scotty 252 #15 Posted October 30, 2014 Yeah I have a lift tube just not sure how I would bend it or where
JERSEYHAWG / Glenn 4,487 #16 Posted October 30, 2014 Just an opinion, but first, why dont you try putting it on. Then see how it fits? And what needs to be done. I have a single stage also and was considering putting it on the 520 I just got instead of the 416. Glenn
Geno 1,928 #17 Posted October 30, 2014 Glenn has a good idea there.
MalMac 1,328 #18 Posted October 30, 2014 This is the kit # Toro suggest using on older blowers with the 520 #81650. I believe it's just a tube that has the bend in it. If it's an older 520 with the straight axel I don't know why you would need it.
bmsgaffer 2,043 #19 Posted October 30, 2014 You might try putting up an ad in the "trade" section to see if someone will trade you their bent one (assuming they dont need it) for your straight one... If i had one, I would.
scotty 252 #20 Posted October 30, 2014 (edited) Okay i got it all mounted and the tires and everything clear the front axel. but when its lifted up one side is higher then the other. And the belt is short. Any ideas? Edited October 30, 2014 by scotty
scotty 252 #21 Posted October 31, 2014 Any one know what size belt i would need?
Theroundhousernr 589 #22 Posted October 31, 2014 The belt should be the same length. The frame was not changed on the forward swept axle tractors so the distance between pulley and motor pulley will be the same. Make sure its sitting in the front mount properly. Also , make sure the belt is routed the right way..... Sometimes with the blower belt, the wrong way ,looks like the way it should be but its not.

scotty 252 #25 Posted November 2, 2014 Okay i got it all hooked up right belt was perfect length only problem is the front tire will rub on the blower if i turn to sharp on one side. Good enough for me. Thanks for all the responses guys!
