Air Cleaner Sensor Switch 520H

Recommended Posts

Wade

Good Morning Wheel Horse Family

I picked up a 1988 520H a few weeks ago and as I was cleaning the top of the Onan I found a hose that is mounted to a fitting in the air cleaner base. The hose was not connected to anything on the engine side . It looks like a small piece of plastic is in the hose , like it broke off from some place. Can any of you tell me where this hose is to be connected. I found the description in the parts picture saying it goes to the air cleaner sensor switch. But I don't see a switch  .

Thank You

Have a Good Day

Wade

Have the same issue on my '90 520-8 Onan. The little plastic barb fittin' would probably break again if I replaced it. Why bother?

I don't use it, keep an eye on my air cleaner.

In my opinion, just a tad too much.   :laughing-rofl:

The switch is behind the left side of the dash and the hose hooks up behind the switch. Since you see a piece of plastic in the hose, that means it is broken. I think out of the 6 I've had only one of them wasn't broken off. Really a sorry piece of engineering work on that sensor. I would imagine that at least 70% of those sensors have broken connectors.

Thank You all for your replies. I didn't look on the dash . My biggest concern was ,I might have a vacuum leak.  You know this is one great place to have I am going to look at changing my membership. Its well worth it helping fund this sight.

Have a Good Evening

Both of the 520h I've had have been broken off. I removed the hose from the air cleaner assembly and put a small hose cap on the barb.
