Howdy from the Sheyenne Valley

Recommended Posts

First post. I became a Wheel horse owner by chance. I saw a 953 being loaded onto a trailer headed for the scrap yard. Kohler engine Delco starterator. Needs LOTS of things but I couldn't see such a neat old tractor getting melted down. So here I am.

Welcome to Redsquare! I rescued my 953 from being parted out a a local tractor boneyard. Unique pieces of equipment for sure! ;-)

Welcome to red square. My grandmother is from Marion. I remember her talking about how going to valley city was a real exciting trip for them.

I grew up south west of Marion about 7 miles. That's where I went to school from kindergarten to graduation. Still got lots of family there.

It joins a couple non Wheel Horse machines at home. An Allis chalmers B and an Allis Chalmers RC. The family also has an affinity for old Chevys. We own 2- 63  Belairs and a 63  Impala, a 67 Biscayne a 64 C-60 and a 49 Studebaker tonner.

I have rebuilt a couple of 953's and 1054's along with many others.  I am also new to the form and haven't figured out all the in's and out's of posting pictures yet.  I have an operation and service manual with parts list for a 953 that I'm going to scan and hopfully be able to post it or email it.  Wheel horse manual.pdf
