Was cruising Craig's List today and just couldn't resist! Evinrude Outboard

I was cruising Craig's list today checking out my usual categories and came across this. Called the guy and he told me it was from the estate of the original owner who was an old rich guy who bought things and either never used them or barely used them. Everything is original including the paint. Heck looks like the original grease is still in place. Steve has been trying to get to get into the old boat and engines and for $100 including the stand I couldn't resist. I figured if I don't end up keeping it I could always sell it to Steve or Ken but in this condition I may just keep it. I'm sure Ken will tell me what I have and whats it worth.

Very nice. All these photos of older boats and engines is tweaking a nerve....I really don't need another obsession but I may not be able to resist:-)

Very nice Jeff! that is a 1956. I hate too say it but the real money is on Ebay for nice motors... I'd say it will easily fetch somewhere around 400 there. It just really depends on who is looking and paying attention at the moment. It might even fetch more if there are a few guys that want a beautiful original...

If I can find a boat to match I will probably keep it and sell the other one.

You should plan on the following:

new coils $45

clean points

new condensers $10

plugs

water pump

carb cleaning

The other one had all that done
