Picking up a 523Dxi next week

Recommended Posts

bluebug

I am new to this forum and a first time Wheel horse owner.

I am picking up a 523Dxi with a 60" deck next week. I have been the maintenance man, taking care of it for the last two years. The current owner is finally going to sell it to me.

I have been looking for a 79451 Collector system for it, but have been unable to find one. I located a 78491 Collector system from a Z Master, with the mount, chute and deck boot. I am going to try to adapt it to run on the 523Dxi.

I own the Bagger that you're on the hunt for. They are a rare item. I found my Bagger at an implement dealer 4.5 hours away from me. Well worth the drive though. You may see one once per year here or there on the Internet.

I think that adapting the zero turn Bagger to your 5xi will be very difficult. The drive kit and the rear subframe may be a challenge. Enjoy the diesel though!

Thanks all for the welcome.

Does anyone know what the paint color code is?

Snowmobileaddict,

I got the ZT bagger in my truck right now. The rear sub-frame is a little wider than that on the tractor, but it does not look to difficult. There is no drive kit with it, since the ZT used a horizontal crank it is very different anyway. I will have to order what parts are still available and fabricate what I can't.

BTW: I grew up in Appleton

Good thing I have five months of down time to work on it.

If you need any photos or measurements let me know, I posted a lot of info on this attachment in this thread

The drive kit parts are boo-koo bucks or NLA. I only know of one other person on this message board that has this attachment.

Good luck with the fab work and go packers!

I got the bagger off CL here locally in Georgia for $250, no long trip to go get it and no shipping.

You can take the boy out of Green Bay, but you can never take the Green Bay out of the boy. :laughing-rofl:

I agree, xi club would be great! Also, I would love to have a quiet collector for my 520Lxi. Those things are awesome. I just keep searching and watching.

My Bermuda goes dormant this time of year and turns brown. Will not need cutting until March.

Gives me plenty of time to work on all my mowers and equipment.

This is my first diesel mower though and it does need a few things.

The muffler fell off several years back and the P.O. did not want to spend the money to replace it.

Needs paint and some of the deck support structure is worn some.

Congrats on the DXI, I have had three diesels counting the JD 430's and they are great and just sip fuel. Enjoy!

Well I have two diesel trucks, so I thought getting a diesel mower would fit well.

Had a gasser JD once, but it had to many problems to want to keep.

JD was very difficult to deal with.

Could not pass the deal I was getting on this 523Dxi.

Rubbing compound, orbital buffer, wax.

Rinse and repeat.

It kills me when people leave these things out in the sun to bake.
