Racinbob 10,256 #4 Posted October 20, 2014 Dan, on the Kohler powered units the cables run under the sides of the motor and approach the connecting points from the bottom. Throttle on the right, choke on the left. Make sure they are clear of any moving parts, especially with the throttle. It's easy for that cable to rub moving things on that side like the pto and drive belts. I have run both cables under the shroud on the left if the throttle cable is long enough. I like to fasten them in place along the way. Don't make the bends too tight. I'd suggest that you wait for a Tecky pic to be sure. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
wallfish 15,907 #5 Posted October 20, 2014 Original engine for that tractor was a Tecumseh H60 engine (6hp) so you should probably post some pics of your machine since it's not original. That way we can avoid guessing and giving wrong info. H60s had the cables connect from the top of the engine. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

wallfish 15,907 #9 Posted October 21, 2014 As for the question about the cables, you are going to have to get creative because the engine is from a snow blower. It's possible to connect a remote throttle cable control to the original control that was on the housing but the choke is a bit tougher. The original throttle control holds the spring for governor resistance. Arrows indicate it came from a snow blower with the intake manifold and the primer bulb. If you go 12v electric start that engine can't charge a battery. An 8 horse Kohler K181 or M8 is the way to go. Direct bolt in, will accommodate the controls and will charge the battery. $.02 That was a bunch of pics that needed to be resized so I just posted most of them, not every one. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
