meadowfield 2,545 #30 Posted November 11, 2014 what you can't see are the wires holding the axle up, good camera angle and use of the light to obscure them....
Stigian 1,234 #31 Posted November 15, 2014 Not much to report guy's and girl's, life has been rather busy with this house move lark.. But I did manage to get my big bench cleared and re-skinned with a much thicker top Yes it will be gaining some extra legs to help hold it up.. A bit of a sad video for you.. And then it was gone!!!

JC 1965 1,527 #36 Posted November 16, 2014 Hate to see the old shop go Ian. Some really great projects came out of there. Looking forward to more great projects from the new shop.
Stigian 1,234 #37 Posted November 22, 2014 Gone but it lives in infamy on YouTube... So true. Very true indeed.. I thought you had one of those helium balloon tanks there and were filling tires with that! I think having no air in the tires helped make it lighter . An absolute tear jerker Ian...end of an era. That poor shack should should be nominated for a Cecil B. Demille lifetime achievement award. I hope you didn't cry into your keyboard too much while watching the vid Craig Hate to see the old shop go Ian. Some really great projects came out of there. Looking forward to more great projects from the new shop. Thanks Jerry, yeah it was sad to see the old shack go, some great machine and memories came out of it. Some more progress in the workshop.. Some tools and decoration up.. The Wheel Horse flags came from a certain chap called Glen Pettit The shelves will be moved to somewhere a little easier to reach, low bench for the blasting cabinet which put's it at a nice height to use, and some more decoration up.. Lot's more shelves filled up with random stuff and Wheel Horse parts.. And finally some more decoration.. It just needs a plug putting on to make it light up... Well chaps, a couple of big milestones were reached yesterday.. The first being I finally wired in my little radio to some big speakers via and old stereo thingy so now I no longer have to listen to tinny sounding rock music from the DAB radios little speaker and I now have the sound power to drown out Nigel's singing The second milestone we shall get to in a bit.. The workshop is now about 85% done.. Ok, I still need to bolt the lathe motor and pulley down.. An organized bench.. Quite possibly the tidiest and cleanest this big bench will ever look.. It's nice to have the bench space to bolt my sheet metal folder on to And as the big project bench was looking tidy I thought I'd take a few photo's of it as well And the second big milestone?? Well with the workshop being 85% done it means it's done enough to be operational.. (The remaining 15% will be done as it's needed).. So the only thing to do was to have an opening ceremony, for which the local royalty was called in to do the honors... It gives me great pleasure to introduce the Mayor of Mower Land "I pronounce this workshop open"!!
19richie66 16,824 #38 Posted November 22, 2014 Too funny Ian. Oh the joys of having a concrete floor in a workshop. Sometimes I have to weld in my shed( not often) and all I can see is it going up in flames. (I do a smoke sniff test before I lock up.) Your shop looks great, cant wait to see more with "why not".
squonk 38,567 #39 Posted November 22, 2014 Good thing you took lots of pictures. That way in a couple of weeks when you start "losing" stuff you can come back here and find it!

Don1977 604 #41 Posted November 22, 2014 Thanks we were getting low on our Shack Fix. With the Shack just a YouTube memory, I see you are referring to the new one as a Workshop. Glad to see your back and looking forward to progress on the latest creation. Didn't see your Horses, where is the Horse Barn? You know we need pictures!
Stigian 1,234 #42 Posted November 25, 2014 Too funny Ian. Oh the joys of having a concrete floor in a workshop. Sometimes I have to weld in my shed( not often) and all I can see is it going up in flames. (I do a smoke sniff test before I lock up.) Your shop looks great, cant wait to see more with "why not". Hi Richie, this is my first workshop with a concrete floor which is nice.. The wall are still made of wood though... I have been lucky with wooden floor workshops over the years and not caught them on fire Good thing you took lots of pictures. That way in a couple of weeks when you start "losing" stuff you can come back here and find it! Hi Mike, losing stuff will happen once I've finished trying to find all the bit's I've not unpacked yet Congrats on the new shop Ian It really does look great and I can see you will have more work space. Hi Jerry, thanks for the congrats.. It is so nice to have more workspace, no more climbing over stuff to get around the bench Thanks we were getting low on our Shack Fix. With the Shack just a YouTube memory, I see you are referring to the new one as a Workshop. Glad to see your back and looking forward to progress on the latest creation. Didn't see your Horses, where is the Horse Barn? You know we need pictures! Hi Don, shack fixes are no more.. So expect lot's of workshop updates instead Yep I am calling it a workshop, it's far too tidy to be called a shack although apart from the concrete floor the construction is about the same.. I move the rest of the herd outside when I'm busy in the workshop, it's nice to have the extra space to get around. I will get some photo's Have a "Welcome to my new workshop" video..
