Japple67 3 #1 Posted October 15, 2014 I have a Blackhood that needs some work and I don't know exactly what model it might be. I'll post some pictures later today, but I'm looking for some info on finding the exact model and some more detailed info about it.
Geno 1,928 #2 Posted October 15, 2014 Hello and Can you give us the numbers of the ID tag please.
bmsgaffer 2,043 #3 Posted October 15, 2014 Black hoods have an ID tag under the "dashboard" on the plate in front of the shifter. The part number will be there if the tag is still left. the format is XX-XXXXXX. (Many times the dash is NOT shown on the label). You can search the "Manuals" section for this number and get your user manuals, service manuals etc. If it doesn't have the tag then we wont be able to tell until we get more information and pictures: Questions: Metal or Plastic fenders under the seat? Hydro or 8 speed? If hydro: is there a filter on the left by the wheel as you look at the rear end of the tractor? What is the horsepower of the engine? (will be on a tag on the engine)
Japple67 3 #4 Posted October 15, 2014 It's an 11hp briggs, plastic fender, ID tag 02-11BP03 then theres a gap followed by 10269. Stamped under that is 0287. still pics later, but cracks in fender, headlights disconnected, 3 flat tires, needs a battery, mesh guard on top of flywheel gone
JackC 616 #5 Posted October 15, 2014 Sounds like a vertical shaft model. B=Briggs engine, P= Peerless transmission? 0287 might indicate the unit was made on the 287th day of 1980. It could be a 1981 model? It is a B-115 5-Speed Tractor, 1981 Here is a link to the parts diagrams: http://www.partstree.com/parts/?lc=Toro+Consumer&mn=02-11BP03
bmsgaffer 2,043 #6 Posted October 15, 2014 Looks like you have a B-115 everything we have relating to that model is here: http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=search&andor_type=&sid=c584ac347a9f80ac4afae2febde5bb2f&search_app_filters[downloads][searchInKey]=files&search_app_filters[downloads][files][sortKey]=date&search_term=02-11BP03&search_app=downloads&search_app_filters[downloads][searchInKey]=files&search_app_filters[downloads][files][sortKey]=title&search_app_filters[downloads][files][sortDir]= If you scroll down a ways you will find the manuals. Japple67 3 #7 Posted October 16, 2014 Hadn't had a chance to look at it in a while, but the B-115 hood stickers are still in good shape. To start with I need to make it run again. I'll have to wait on a battery but I have a starter wired for 110v. Last I remember there was a wiring issue, but I don't know what. How do post pictures? AJ_Thanatos 516 #8 Posted October 18, 2014 There should be a "more reply options" in the lower right. You can attach pictures there
Japple67 3 #9 Posted October 18, 2014 As you can see in the pictures, the original plastic fender is cracked, it is also very brittle. I know there are other model fenders that are steel and will work. What are they and where can I find parts for these tractors?
Japple67 3 #10 Posted October 19, 2014 All the engine fins are full of mouse nest and baked on grime, how can i clean the engine up without tearing it down? The hood hold downs are both bad, one completely severed, where can i get them? fourth picture

Japple67 3 #12 Posted October 21, 2014 Got it running. Still needs a lot but it's coming along.
Japple67 3 #13 Posted October 22, 2014 Am I correct in thinking that the tire sizes are total height x width-rimsize? For example would a 18x9.50-8 be 18" tall 9.5" wide on a 8" rim?
Geno 1,928 #14 Posted October 22, 2014 You got it. Only problem is a lot of manufacturers don't stick to the guidelines, a lot of times thay are smaller than the listed size.
