ibskot 37 #26 Posted October 6, 2014 I picked the 416 up today....yeah it misses throughout the rpm range. I think it's blowing a little puffy smoke now. Dang. Here is a pic.
km3h 543 #27 Posted October 6, 2014 (edited) I think the guy is guessing about the cam. Did he pull the head? Like was said before, run it after dark. Look at every wire you can see. move them around and watch for an arc. If you are confident that the electronics are in good order, I would pull the head. Turn the engine over very slowly and watch the valves. Make sure they are seated properly. Bet there is a lot of carbon in there anyway and will need to be attended to. Take it one step at a time. You can fix this thing. Don't scrap this thing until you have fully checked it out. The guys on here can talk you through a complete rebuild. It is not that hard and not that expensive either. ibskot 37 #28 Posted October 6, 2014 No....I won't scrap it. I have decided to keep it. Right this second I can't do a rebuild if need be. BUT it might be a great project for my son and me in a few years. I will do a little more investigation since it's home. I will check back here. Thank you! ibskot 37 #29 Posted October 6, 2014 Meanwhile, since I have that C125 home, I am gonna take the bigger front wheels off it and if the guy calls me back I'll add some front wheel weights and more rear weight to this.....gonna be doing great fall plowing really soon. Probably gonna take the 416 seat and use it in the meantime.
Don1977 604 #30 Posted October 6, 2014 The valves may need adjusting. That fixed my Magnum 12. The intake valve was too close.
