KC9KAS 4,741 #1 Posted September 28, 2014 Went to another parade today with the 9 Wheel Horses I had in our town parade 2 weeks ago. Had to haul them (2 trailer loads) about 10 miles to the next community. I just totally wore myself out loading at home, unloading at the start of the parade, loading at the end of the parade and unloading back at home. A couple of GT's would be OK, but not 9! Anyway, back to the 654. It wouldn't start and I ended up having the 6 hp Tecky flooded. I had read about "bump-starting" a stick shift Wheel Horse, so I hooked th D-200 to the 654 and pulled it about 15-20 feet and it was running! There were a lot of folks at the parade line-up that couldn't believe that it started by pulling it!
AMC RULES 36,936 #2 Posted September 29, 2014 Really, I didn't know you could do that either. Now...you know we're going to want a video of this process.
KC9KAS 4,741 #3 Posted September 29, 2014 Hard to take a video and drive at the same time! I think the only photos that were taken were of the kids before the parade. We had 3 generations driving, and a 4th generation in the trailer throwing candy.
Coadster32 793 #4 Posted September 29, 2014 I've started them in gear before, but never tried pop-starting them. Good to know.
