firefighter198 1 #1 Posted September 22, 2014 What is the recommended point gap in mm for a 12 hp kholer in a c125
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 10,478 #2 Posted September 22, 2014 Specs call for .020" which is .508 mm Many say .018" works better for them which is .457 mm Either should get it running and then fine tune with a timing light. Garry
firefighter198 1 #3 Posted September 22, 2014 Thanks I will try that.... This machine is going to be the death of me if I can't get it to fire

firefighter198 1 #6 Posted September 22, 2014 Thank you and I used gwest_ca. Point gap measurements and it fired! Now my next hurtle is that it fired but it's sputtering like it's not getting enough fuel however it's also spitting fuel out of the carb. Any body know the "normal" carb settings off hand or at least where I should start?
oldblue1993 98 #7 Posted September 24, 2014 Hey , How long has it been since this was last run?

Geno 1,928 #9 Posted September 24, 2014 If it's got fuel running out of the carb the needle or float is stuck. Might as well take the bowl off and clean it.
firefighter198 1 #10 Posted September 24, 2014 I did just put new needles in it and cleaned it last year but I will def. give it a shot thanks
oldblue1993 98 #11 Posted September 24, 2014 let us know how that goes, carb setting for k301 is, 2 1/2 backed out for main jet and 1 3/4 for idle.
tunahead72 2,332 #12 Posted September 25, 2014 Don't have my Kohler owner's manual in front of me right now, but initial carb settings depend on which carb is installed (Kohler or Walbro, and if Walbro, 1 adjustment needle or 2).
firefighter198 1 #13 Posted October 1, 2014 Okay so I adjusted the carb to the described settings and it is still putt putt... It doesn't want to stay running and it never gets up in RPM now there is gas spitting out of the carb where the air cleaner would be any ideas or suggestions? Oh and I did get a rebuild kit so the float and needles should be operational.
