I AM NEW TO THE WHEEL HORSE. BUT I PICKED UP TWO C-175 BACK IN JULY ONE RAN AND THE OTHER NEED A COIL. ANYWAY I USE A COIL OFF A GM CAR AND TWO CONDENSERS AND A BALLIST RESISTER, WORKS GET. I HAD TO MAKE A FEW PARTS FOR THE TRACTOR LIKE THE BELT GUARD ,FOOT REST AND THE REAR FENDERS. THE PICTURES WILL HAVE TO COME IN SPIRTS BECAUSE OUR INTERNET IS TOUCHY. post-13501-0-91091200-1409746102_thumb.jpost-13501-0-78310900-1409746137_thumb.j

just to let everybody no that this restore is already done . finished it a few weeks age. but I want to share what I did and how I did it. I made the belt cover out of a Mustang quarter panel. the foot rest was made out of running boards off a chevy pickup the fenders I also made out the running boards. Here is a few pictures.

Here is a few pictures of the progress. I started out using Valspar Cut Ruby. I was not to impressed with drying time and overspray. So  I went to Krylon Cherry Red dried faster and very little overspray.

I used Rustleum Almond white on the wheels. Not sure if they needed to be white or off white but the almond looks pretty good.

I had to weld up the center portion due to cracks.

FEW MORE PICTURES THIS MORNING.

THE TRACTOR HAD A RATS NEST OF WIRING WHEN I GOT IT. THE FIRST OWNER AN A FUSE PANEL 8 INCHES  LONG AND HAD A TRAILER HOOK UP AND REAR SPOT LIGHTS.

I CLEANED IT UP HERE IS FINSHED PICT OF BEHIND THE DASH.

post-13501-0-15431200-1411304648_thumb.j

THIS TRACTOR HAD A CIGARETTE LIGHTER. DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF THIS CAME WITH A LIGHTER OR WAS IT INSTALLED LATER?  I NOW SOME OLDER ONES CAME WITH CIGARETTE LIGHTERS. ANYWAY I HOOKED IT UP.

post-13501-0-55176400-1411304676_thumb.j

HERE IS A PICTURE WITH THE ENGINE INSTALLED. WHEN I GOT THE TRACTOR I WAS TOLD THAT IT HAD NO COMPRESSION. I HAD TO TRY IT FOR MY SELF. ONLY THING I FOUND WAS THAT IT HAD NO SPARK. SO I USED THE IDEA OFF OF BRIAN MILLER WEB SITE. I LEARNED ALOT FROM THAT SITE. TRACTOR FIRED RIGHT UP.

post-13501-0-27295600-1411304700.jpg

THE ENGINE HAS SOME VALVE SMACKING NOISES I HOPE THIS IS OK. I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO GET NEW VALVES AT THIS TIME. I DID TAKE THE HEADS OFF TO CHECK FOR CARBON. I STILL CAN SEE THE HONING MARKS IN THE CYLINDER WALLS. I ASSUME THAT IS A GOODTHING.

post-13501-0-54853400-1411304725_thumb.j

THE REAREND I CUT THE OLD WHEEL HORSE LOGO OFF OLD PLASTIC FENDERS AND I ALSO REUSED THE LIGHTS. LOOKS PRETTY GOOD FOR NOW. THE REAR PART THAT HAS THE LIGHTS AND LOGO ON IT CAME FROM LEGS OFF A TABLE SAW.

post-13501-0-02200600-1411306370_thumb.j

THE BELT GUARD WAS HOMEMADE THE METAL CAME A 67 MUSTANG QUARTER PANEL.

I USE WHAT EVER I CAN TO SAVE MONEY.

THE NEXT PART IS GOING TO BE THE HOOD "WHAT A MESS".

THANKS GENO.

IT HAS BEEN FUN, I REALLY ENJOY RESTORING OLD EQUIPMENT. HERE IS A FEW MORE PICTURES OF THE HOOD.

post-13501-0-55299900-1411942903.jpg3

THE PAINT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO REMOVE.  THE MORE I SANDED THE WORSE IT GOT. I ENDED UP HAVING TO USE PAINT REMOVER.

post-13501-0-37863300-1411943189.jpg

THE HOOD WAS NOT PERFECT IT HAD ALOT OF PITS FROM THE RUST. I REALLY DID NOT WANT TO USE BODY FILLER, SO I WILL HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT.

post-13501-0-26856000-1411943212.jpg

I WILL DO MY OWN DECALS. I KNOW THAT YOU CAN BUY THEM PRETTY CHEAP BUT THIS IS A BARGIN BUILD.

I GOT THE HOOD DONE.

post-13501-0-50462900-1412336363.jpg

WHAT I DID WAS I PAINTED A BLACK STRIP FIRST, THAN I PUT MY LETTERING ON THE BLACK , TAPED OFF THE HOOD AND PAINTED IT WHITE.

THAN I PEELED OFF THE LETTERING TO SHOW THE BLACK. I KNOW THAT IT IS NOT RIGHT BUT LOOKS GOOD FOR ME

post-13501-0-29905600-1412336338.jpg

THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THIS TRACTOR IS ONE OF THE REAR HUBS IS WORN WHERE THE KEY IS.
