roverman2010 0 #1 Posted August 28, 2014 I have recently come about owning a Wheel Horse GT14, it had been sitting for sometime so I am changing fluids, points and cleaning out the fuel system before I start (or try to) it up. Need to ask is there any other way to obtain the engine number as the fan housing has been changed/repainted and there are no stickers on it. does the block have any stampings on it? I have also noticed on some web sites people say they have no compression, looking at the engine Manuel I have it mentions a ACR system fitted to the K series Kohler engines. stevasaurus 22,229 #2 Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) Welcome to red Square. That model # should maybe be 1-7452 (only one 7)...if so...it is a 1970 GT-14. The engine should be a Kohler K321S-60125B. stevasaurus 22,229 #5 Posted August 28, 2014 (edited) Ed, the answer is no...just found some of it going through the manual. The 1st 2 numbers in the Spec # tell the engine size. Your 60 stands for K321. The rest of the numbers stand for variations of the Basic engine. I have looked through a lot of Kohler and Tecumseh books and I have never actually seen what those spec #s represent, but it is all about how Wheel Horse ordered the engines for their horses. Here is a link to the Kohler manual. stevasaurus 22,229 #7 Posted August 28, 2014 According to a book I have, the rest of the spec # after the 1st 2 digits is just a numerical secession in variations in the basic engine as they happened. A=narrow block or special oil pan P=Pump Q=Quiet Line G=Generator R=Reduction Geared S=Electric starter T=Retractable starter I think there are a few others, those are just the ones that come to mind.
