Rob,

They were made from 1988-1990. In my opinion kind of hokey with the cover over the engine. I would hold out for a MacKissic 12PT because:

  • they are still made and supported.
  • I have one and it works well. :twocents-02cents:

To late. Already purchased it. I was a little concerned, but not after the little test I put it though today. I put almost a 4 inch branch through the chipper. It took it.... I did have to slow down how much I was feeding the chipper a couple times, but it toook it. I would imagine if it had new blades on the cipper wheel, I would have been able to feed it without reducing the speed I was feeding it.

I was looking for a Mac John, but all I kept coming across were 5hp...... I knew that would not get the job done. This was only the 2nd time I had seen one of these for sale at a price I was suprised to see. The last time I saw one it was listed for $600.00... Not about to pay that. Then just recently I saw 2 more on ebay. One had a reserve of $750.00 and the other was $900.00. So it was not what I was wanting, but it sure turned out to be able to do more than what I was hoping for... And the wife was very pleased with the pile of shredded branches it left.....She said, " do we have any more? I think this is fun!" Bonus!
