Buying 3 Tractors, help with prices.

Recommended Posts

Fordiesel69

Looking at three tractors this coming weekend.

C-145 - Rusty, missing belt guard, fender is bad, the 14hp K series smokes oil, has the kohler rattle but very much rebuildable.  No deck, seat is shot.

C-175 - Hydro - Blown KT 17 series I.  Complete, very nice looking almost mint, no deck.  He might be able to part with a 42" for extra price.  ( I have a very nice M14 to repower with.)

MTD/WHITE - Typical big box store garbage.  Somthing on the drive belt system is stuck and therefore the engine will not crank.  If you cut the belt the engine is great.  Not sure if it is a idler pulley or the hydro tranny.

Needs all gone and one offer will take all.

I would say $200 max, 75 each for the Wheel Horses and 50 of the other.

I say the same, 2-300 and not a penny more.  The ony reason I would buy the MTD is to just give him what he wants, rid of them all.

300 for all I guess would be acceptable.  I am nervous the MTD may have a bad hydro, and if so, they are alomst impossible to sell, running engine or not.

You can tell you all live in a Wheel Horse rich environment. Around here $300 would buy a non-running, rusty Wheel Horse maybe!

Will probably pass on them.  I can fix the white / mtd for him and get the two wheel horses free, but the tractor is mostly junk and not maintained.  Has engine problems with compressions release.

The C-175 sure is nice, but unless a C-145 engine is a direct mount swap, I don;t want to bother.  He wants $200

The C-145 has a great engine, but the rest of the tractor is junk, it has no sheet metal with exception to the hood.  He wants $200

I would pass as well.  I think he's way too high.

The right deal will show up.  :)
