I was over in western N, this weekend and they were asking $28 for beans. I thought, what a yr not to grow any at home. I didn't buy any, but there seemed to be no shortage of produce over there. I guess ill have to rethink giving away all the stuff from my test garden.

You think that's high, try buying a bushel of steamed crabs here in Maryland. Just priced a bushel of mediums at $250.00. Don't even want to know what larges cost. Wasn't that long ago you could get the same thing for $50.00.

It's a shame you can't grow them in a garden.

Local strawberries went from $2.50 a box to $3.50 this year, and corn from $2.50/doz to $4.50. Haven't priced beans.

Today most municipalities have ordinances that prevent farm animals within city limits.   :angry-nono:

The local authorities keep bugging my wife about the farm animal ordinance. She keeps telling them, my name is on the mortgage so I have to stay!

This is one thing Cleveland is doing right. We can have chickens and ducks in the city with permits. However you may have one hoof stock animal if you have an acre and one additional animal for every 1/2 acre over the initial 1 acre.
