JustinW.73 224 #1 Posted July 27, 2014 Hey everyone. After a few months of searching I have finally found a snowblower about two hours away from where I live. He wants 50 bucks for it and I thought it was a great deal but wanted to check with you guys before I get it. It looks good. No rotting. It is the single stage short chute. He said that the control cable is not there. Is that to control the direction of the chute? If so would it be easy to make? Some pictures of that would be great. By the way, I have a 73' raider 12, will it fit on it. Its an 8 speed not a hydro. Some pictures would be great of your tractor especially if it is similar to mine. There should be 2 extensions that bolt on the front on each end where the 3 loose bolts are on each side in the pic to funnel snow in. Lifting rods aren't hard to make. Ed Kennell 35,740 #8 Posted July 28, 2014 $50...that would be the price for a new WH belt. Push rods and flags are easy to make. I found my blowers work better without the side extensions. They make it hard to steer. After the first pass, the extension wants to pull the tractor into the snow too hard. Picture hanging wire cable works for the chute control. Don't walk....run for it. I have a cement drive. I've been talking about this blower with an older friend and he was saying the same thing as geno about its worth that in parts. I decided I am getting it. Geno 1,928 #11 Posted July 28, 2014 Congratulations! The pole for lifting is actually 2 pieces. There is a long pole about 4 feet long and a shorter piece that slides inside of it about a foot long for the lift. The flag is what a lot of people call the shorter piece because it has a piece welded to it that makes the piece look like a flag. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The same basic snowthrower was sold 1973 until at least 2007 with subtle changes over the years. Without a model number we look for changes to try and identify the age of it. A skid will wear out faster than a wheel on concrete unless you can keep a layer of ice on the surface. Here that layer of ice is about 3" thick by spring.
