Ken. Like it. Btw. The 161 rim color looks familiar.

Looking great. Why did I not keep those??  :scratchead:  I can only imagine how easy it is now to turn that 417. Unless you have driven that tractor with the gear reduction steering you really have no idea how easy it is to steer.

Wow, thats Sweet !!! You've really done a great resto/custom job on that 417 Ken. Looking at yours makes me think how easy it would be to put the KT-17 off my 417 onto the 520 roller (with swept forward axle) thats sitting in the barn.........  But I'm saving that for another project.

Anyway, thank you for posting these cool pics!!! I love 417/418 pics!

I gave the 417 a good bath and wax job yesterday. The Rustoleum Farm and implement paint I used on this tractor a yr. ago is holding up very well. I also decided to high light the lettering on the tires. The Firestone tri ribs are made in Vietnam so I didn't highlight that part. Though I was a little disappointed with that little tid bit of info I was happy they weren't made in china...

I think that tractor needs a set of 10.50 wide ags out back.... Looked great like that...

I kinda like the smoothies myself.. But, I'm looking for a set of ags as well. I've been thinking about putting Cole on the 417 in the Bridgewater Fair tractor pulls..

Just a little update on how the 417 mows with the tri ribs. Not so good. While I love how it now looks with the tri ribs, forward swept front axle with gear reduction steering that I have on this 417. The problem is the deck now cuts unevenly when taking a turn and it probably picks up more grass clippings in the blower screen than it did with the old tires. This I believe is due to the tractor now sitting quite a bit higher in the front now, which in turn raise's the deck more in the front. The quality of cut that I had from the 48 inch deck previous to the tri ribs was absolutely fantastic, it honestly looked like a professional lawn service cut the grass. Though my 417 still runs super strong it does have right around 2000 hrs. on the clock. I'm thinking about switching the deck to my C-161 8 speed and giving that tractor a run. I'd love to do up my 417 as SOMEWHAT of a 420 clone if ya know what I mean...

The tri ribs were a bear to get on the rims so I think they are permanent, but thanks!
