How do I stop parking break lever rattle?

Recommended Posts

My parking brake lever on my auto c-175 rattles a lot. I can hear it over the engine and the mower. What is the best way to stop this?

What model? If you are referring to an automatic like my C-120, the oval center hole wears and causes a lot of slop. Finding a new or good used one with a good oval hole fixed my problem.

Never had an auto but think of this bulletin when I hear of a rattle in the linkage

I have (had) the same issue with my Bronco 14.  It is REALLY annoying.  After some parts bin digging, I found a long thin spring that hooks neatly to the park brake lever and the other end to the hoodstand.  The spring should have a long stem on both ends.  It doesn't need to be big and heavy...just enough to stop the lever from rattling around to preclude insanity.

I welded the worn hole shut and re-drilled on my C-160
