The  KV181 is a little different oiling engine.  The crankcase is basically a dry sump and the oil tank is

the aluminum housing or pan.  Oil is moved using check valves and pulsations from the crankcase to

pump the oil.  Oil is pumped first to the top bearing of the crankshaft.  The oil then drains into a bowl

of sorts that has a drilled passage to the crank pin.  Oil is slung to the rest of the internals then sucked

back into the reservoir ready to make the trip again.

Always wondered why there was an extra hole in a small block Kohler oil pan gasket.  Passage to the

upper crank bearing.

The lube chart shows 1-1/4 quarts for the engine of the 1969 Charger V8.

Here is a pic of the tank/pump system.

The air filters are unique and elusive, but there is one on ebay right now.

Just search for 234354.  Pricey but there.

Have thought about using a KN filter and the E-4210 looks like it would

work but you would have to fabricate an end for it.  Also thought about

fitting one of the cone shaped Tecky filters if there is room.
