Molon_Labe 731 #1 Posted July 4, 2014 These little tractors are like Lay's Potato Chips, one isn't nearly enough. Found this one listed on CL and took it home today. The po listed it as an 18hp with a 38" deck??? Okay neither are correct, it's actually a K241 10hp with a 42" deck. The overall condition is pretty good but the engine smokes under load, no knocks or clicking so I might be lucky enough to get out of it with just a ring job, but in the end will do whatever it takes. Now this is not the original engine since it is a 1979 C-111 and was manufactured with an 11hp B&S and from the looks of the frame rails and the left side if the grille it had something much larger in it at one time. The other notch, if that's what it is (in yellow) looks like it was done by a previous owner. Some new decals would really make that tractor "pop"! Maybe a set of C-101's . C-111.jpg Mike.............. Thanks for the clarification Mike. It just looked like something done "after the fact". That probably explains the marks on the frame forward of the Kohler as belonging to the Briggs. New decals are on the list. Gonna tear it down this winter and try to get everything back to 100%. Molon_Labe 731 #12 Posted July 20, 2014 After tearing the engine down I found it came out of a 1976 B100 and so did the deck. Overhauled the engine and had to put a throttle shaft bushing in the Walbro carb (really sloppy) to get it to run smooth but it was worth all of the effort. This little guy is a beast. Really pleased with the outcome on this one. If I end up getting another one I'll have to build another barn to put it in, but I'm looking. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
