6wheeler 585 #1 Posted April 24, 2014 OK, we want to put up a clothesline between 2 trees. Cuz, we are all green and all. How can I put this up without hurting the trees? I think we can put some sort of choker on the tree and maybe some sort of tightener on the line. Any Ideas?
nyquil junkie 225 #2 Posted April 24, 2014 Scraps of rubber garden hose. as long as the loop around the tree is a little lose it wont harm the tree. Put the wire through the hose and wrap the hose around the trunk. The harm comes when the tree grows and tightens the wire around it. But you loosen the loop every year a wee bit and you're good. Digger 66 3,476 #3 Posted April 24, 2014 (edited) Use a turn-buckle in the middle to tighten the line . Tie loops at either end feed one end around tree then back through the loop & use the free end to attach to the turnbuckle. Pardon my kindergarten drawing .
