New Member - What Model Do I Have

Recommended Posts

Teriyaki

I actually signed up several months ago, to try and identify a couple of Wheel Horses', but never could actually determine what I have.

These were my Dad's, who passed away in 2012.  The small one was sold at our second auction, so it is long gone.  I kept the bigger one to use at the next auction, as I had a lot of boat trailers to move around and, tried to use it to mow the property.  Not sure if the 3 blade mower deck was made for this model, or even if it was a Wheel Horse model.  But, after I made some modifications and attached it to the tractor, and many adjustments, new pulleys, and changed out bearings, I had to give it up and use something else.

Anyway, here are a few pictures of the one I still ahve and am keeping as part of what I inherited.  This is a really stout machine with the 3 forward gears and 2-speed axle or or gear box.  The engine has seen better days, and my Dad had some custom graphics made when he partially restored it.  Pretty dirty right now, as I use it contantly around the shop.  The engine has seen better days, but it runs after I replaced a bad float and cleaned the needle seat and main jet in the carb.

I am sure you guys will know the year and model number, and thanks in advance for any help or links to information about it.

The engine was replaced but it looks like a B or C series. If her replaced it with the same size engine it would be a C-100 i think. Looks like the front tires are too big, that would be the only issue running decks, but I dont recognize that deck.

The first two numbers are the HP. There may still be a tag under the center console that would have the model number and serial number on it. Should have been riveted on. That may still be there.

I guess that would be a B-100, did they make a C-100?

Rear wheel on the deck look like a simplicity to me. Did your dad do tractor pulls? Some of that tractor brings back 1980s tractor pull visions!

Thanks guys for the information.  The bottom picture was how I first found the tractor, and all 4 tires were dry rot, but would hold air for a day while I was using it.  The carb float had a hole in it, and was pretty gummed up from sitting for a long time.  My Dad had a welding shop and collected boats, so he mostly used it to move boats and trailers around his shop.  I bought 4 new tires and needed those rear tractor treads so the wheels didn't spin when pulling some heavy loads getting thigs organized for the estate auctions

I found that deck and antoher smaller deck.  Thought this one went with the tractor and made some brackets to mount it.  It worked OK, as long as the grass was not too tall.  That deck is probably going back in the pile of scrap steel I pulled it out of.  I know Dad put the daimond plate on there, and the seat was broken, so I put on one of the old cast iron tractor seats laying around.   Not too comfortable, but it works.

Wouldn't trade this thing for a new model, it seems to be built to last.
