I plan to pull the wheels and tires and repaint those with some good wheel paint but other than that. I think it will just get used this season then maybe down the road get a refresh. I may pull the engine to clean it better and while its apart I mine as well paint it also. I got some new laser cut steel pieces to fix the rusted out. I'll like do a separate write up on that in another post.

Well I cleaned the engine this weekend. All I can say is wow, what a mess. The muck and grass was inches thick in some places. The engine couldn't even breath around the valves because that was all clogged up. Nice thing is that it cleaned up really well so that was great but man was it a mess. here are some pictures of the engine when I started to pull tins off. I also replaced the plug and condenser while I had it apart. I have new points and I think a will adjust the valves next. I have a carb kit for it as well but it runs great as is, so if it isn't broke, dont fix it, right?

It does have a valve tick. I'm going to try and adjust it out and see how she runs.

And here is really the only major damage on the tractor. Anyone ever have this? How did you fix it? I have an idea but thought I would check with others first

I didn't see where anyone replied to this part (but I could have missed something). I'd say keep an eye on the classifieds or get in touch with one of the used parts guys here and replace the hood. They're fairly available and not too pricey the last I checked. At that location getting a good weld for a patch to hold, especially given the amount of vibration a hood is subjected to, could be pretty tricky. JMHO.....
