Going to Missouri in 2 weeks to pick up the family heirloom.  My Dad bought this 641 Workmaster new in 1957.  I was 7 years old when it was delivered and I was on Dad's  lap driving it off the trailer.  Can't wait to get it up here in Michigan. :happy-bouncyyellow:

My 90 year old uncle said his 641 was the best tractor that he ever had. When he sold the others he kept the 641 until a few years after he quit farming.  The 641 never needed many repairs.  The 661 is harder to find in the 601 series, with the five speed and live PTO.   The 641 is like a Jubilee NNA, updated with the Red Tiger overhead valve motor, a great classic tractor.

Got the 641 back in Michigan last Saturday night.   My son and I had quite a time getting it moving.  Almost like it didn't want to leave the homestead.  When I started it for the first time, it blew a hyd hose on the FEL.  No problem, short run (17 mi) to O'Reilly's, make a hose and back we go.  Put the hose on and tried to fire it up.  Carb kept flooding and wouldn't start.  Took the carb off reset the float and quit for the day.  Next morning I put the carb back on and fired her up, no problem.  Looks like a winner!  Then the main hyd hose on the backhoe blew out.  Shut down again, my son took the hose off and we were done for the day.  Early Friday morning, back to O'Reilly's, new hose, back home, install hose.   Stop for lunch.  I went out after lunch, checked everything, all looked good so I fired her up.   Loud sqealing noise, crap! I forgot to open the valve on the reservoir,  I grabbed the handle, opened the valve and "BANG"  bigger noise and hyd fluid spraying everywhere.  My neglect to double check everything just cost me a pump.  The case was split wide open.

The backhoe boom and the outriggers were down when this happened, so my son did the hard work.  He used a "come-a-long" to raise the boom and outriggers so I could chain them up.  Friday night we finally loaded the good ol 641 for the trip home.

Tomorrow I am going back to work on my C141.  Little tractors for a while. :confusion-seeingstars:
