meadowfield 2,545 #1 Posted March 1, 2014 I should really know better, but this morning I was modifying some galvanised hinges off my shed. Mig cranked up at 150 amps and holding the two pieces of clean, but galvanised steel together. Pressed the button and pow!! Massive crack and molten metal spatters everywhere. I would just hold up a piece of welding glass with my left hand the torch in my right... stopped doing that when I kept getting a sun burn on my forehead, cheeks and chin... LOL!
