Those are the ones that are so hard to find. That is a perfectly preserved survivor. IMO any type of repainting or restoration to something like that one is a sin. Clean it up with some soap and water, get her running right and enjoy !!

(If you were Clay-RJ35 Hunter you would not even clean it) lol

Cool RJ! I was also wondering what that front bracket is... doesn't look stock. Is it bolted on or welded to the frame?

Steve hit the nail on the head. A few yrs. ago it seemed as though every other month a find like this would pop up on the local Craigslist in CT. Not so much these days! Most of them have all been scoffed up...I've been looking for a nice original Suburban (to match my original RJ) for a few yrs. now with no luck.

It will be staying original to match my orig. suburban. All will stay together as well. The mount on the front is for the snow plow. It bolts on and off.  Thank you guys for the words of encouragement on this find.  It does need some tinkering after a 20 year nap.

I don't know anything about the older tractors , but would expect that to be swiss cheesed and wafer thin. Very nice indeed.

You guys are full of information if a person will just ask. So what was the standard cost of a 1958 - 1961 wheel horse?

I never saw a mulcher kit Steve .   One of the reasons I like the 1958 Wheel Horse price list is all the good, original information on weight, price and names of items that you just don't see very many places.

Bad news on leaving this one totally original. After sitting in the garage a few days and a bath, I Noticed the front wheels still wet around the bottom. I knew they were rusty but didn't think much more about it till now. They have calcium in them. I guess that means a sand blast and paint for them or risk just loosing them all together. Rear rims are already gone due to being loaded. (Seen that at time of purchase). Can't win them all.

Anyone have any other ideas on what else I can do with rusty calcium filled wheels to save them?

You can sandblast them then fill with JB weld or some epoxy filler. I did this on my early 55 RJ35. IMO having to paint the wheels is not the worst thing. You can always be on the look out for another original set. I have painted many rims and tires and seats and left the rest original. Looks correct imo.
