A-75311 looks like a 1964 serial number so perhaps you have this one

50in cutting width?

I don't know about your 312...

but it should mount up to that 1257 with no problem.

A SMS-50 is for a wide frame tractor such as a 953, 1054, 1054-A or GT-14, not a long frame tractor such as a 1257. Hopefully you have one of the 50 inch mowers for a long frame tractor. Post pics of the mower.

Wonder, is frame width the difference between a SML and a SMS-50" mower?  :scratchead:

Yes and the SMS-50 and SMS-505 have a different mounting plate and lift assy. than that used on the long frame tractors.

your pics do not show the main frame mount with the correct angle. the diff between the 953/1054/gt14 and the 1257 is the the main frame mount. The 953 style has a 1" off set and the 1257 style both side are straight and the attachmatic mount is wider also for the 953 style

Something I find odd is there is no sickle bar listed for the GT-14 anywhere.

These parts are from a  50 inch sickle bar mower  but this is a Model  7-1312  .  The U Shaped  piece on the end of the bar is where you bolt up the sickle bar on the back of the tractor -in front of the transmission.   The SMS-50 does not have this type of "bolt up" and instead has a plate that bots to the back side of the tractor (or front of the transmission actually).

I always learn a thing or two from each of these implement postings!    I did not know that the 50 inch sickle bar mowers had two different sized frame plate mounts!

Here are a couple photos of the 50 inch sickle bar mower frame   (7-1312)  that I noted above.   Just like Evanloock indicates  above their are two different sized 50 inch sickle bar main frame setups.   The SMS -50 is wider and the 7-1312 is more narrow for different applications.

The large main frame rests outside the frame of the tractor  and two nuts and  bolts on each side hold it in place.

The second photo shows the rear bar that rides between two bolts in front of the transmission where the angled pieces come off the frame of the tractor in front.
