Rock farmer 41 #1 Posted February 19, 2014 I've seen this for sale. But I can't quite figure it out. Decal says 1969 to 1971? Engine is briggs or Tecumseh? I'm thinking 800 special? That geared deck is a hold over from the mid sixties? Plow blade home made or factory? Cart, wheelhorse or something else? Only picture I've got. Thanks! Terry M-(Moderator) 2,125 #2 Posted February 19, 2014 I think I'm safe to say the engine is a transplanted briggs…about 8hp..maybe?
Rock farmer 41 #3 Posted February 19, 2014 I'm thinking the cut out on the hood looks factory?
Hodge71 662 #4 Posted February 19, 2014 They never put a briggs from the factory back then. The cut could be made right quick with a 4 inch grinder and a cut off wheel
Rock farmer 41 #5 Posted February 19, 2014 Yea, the tractor seems to have the tires of a "C" series. But, the blade and trailer don't say that?
Hammerhead 816 #6 Posted February 19, 2014 That is a non stock Briggs motor and a cut up hood with the wrong decals. Looks like a 1968 or 69 tractor. Look under the dash for a metal Id plate and if it is there, post the Model Number on this site and we can tell you exactly what it is. The dump cart is not a WH product but the snow blade is. The 3 spoke steering wheel looks like a 1969 type maybe a Model 700. I have seen that machine around on Ebay or Craigslist maybe. Seems like a lot of these tractors get their hoods hacked out in the same way as this one. Go drag it home and start the rebuilding! Good Luck!

Kelly 1,028 #8 Posted February 19, 2014 I agree 68 or 69 short frame machine, looks to have the wide rear fenders, engine not correct, has narrow tires front and rear if factory that says it was a Tecumseh powered machine when new, been on Ebay a few times. Rock farmer 41 #9 Posted February 22, 2014 So, I asked some Q's. Do you know the model number? Or, engine make and hp? 3 speed tran right? Tractor deck trailer and plow MODEL # 1715 7-8 hp engine yes 3 speed tranny yes all the items are in the pic are included Model number makes no sense. Engine hp doesn't help. 3 speed tran tells me something. Just checking to make sure the deck is included. It's not too far from me. I always wanted to try a short frame model. That is my favorite style wheelhorse. Price ain't bad for my neck of the woods. I'd probably want a kohler in it anyway. Is that the correct deck for it? Is it a good deck? Thanks!
