What will you be using this winter to clear the snow?

Recommended Posts

flyovrcntry

This is my new toy,as I said in a previous post I sold my GT14,so I had to get another tractor.I really like this 417-A,the ground speed is surprising.I pushed a little rock with it and there's plenty of power.I got my chains in the mail and am ready.

Our winters have been pretty mild, but they say this is going to be a bad one,or as some see it a good one'

Unfortunately, I won't post pic as mine is not red. The Lawn Ranger has some work yet to get it to that stage.

C-85

Hi All,

In Vermont, all we need is snow :)

Here's our fleet of snow equipment, we're ready for anything!

I just repainted the hood on the C-85 and I'm really happy how it turned out.  I used PPG paint with a hardener.  The Vinyl Guy was a super help in getting the decals.  I plan on doing more painting in the spring after it warms up some.

MAN O MAN, you fellas posted some really cool pics of your snow gear. seems your ready to battle the white stuff and win.

question: I like the snow cabs, where do you buy them? I would like to investigate one for my 416-8. Seems that would complete my rig.

And if any of you have positive or negative comments on the snow cab, would like to hear about it. After all thats one GREAT thing about this forum, the accumulated knowledge helps us virgins make good decisions, thanks.

Cabs can be had off ebay, CL, or from the Original Cab Co.  I've never used a cab on a GT so I'm no help on the comments.  I would however like to try one, actually I would like to build a "hard cab", as a new cab, "soft" cab from OTC runs 8 hundy or so if I remember correctly.

Here's what I use! It isn't red but plows and blows better then any Wheel Horse I ever owned. Can't beat the live hydraulics. I only wished the Ponds added them to their product line.

fireman - don't sweat it... Before I got the 518, I was also looking, at for a 318.....You can't beat the hydraulic couplers, front and rear, along with an option for 3pt. hitch.

anyone want to buy a 1 year old ariens 30" snow blower? j/k

this was the first chance i had to plow with my 48 farmall cub (hey, at least it's red!) what a joy! i had so much fun plowing the neigborhood.

i'm still going to need the snowblower though, for those mornings when there's a foot or more on the ground, but that old cub is a ton of fun.

Well I usually get smart about now and say my broom does the job here in Texas BUT after last weeks 4 inches of solid ice nothing would move that but the sun and even tho its been above freezing for four days its been 9 days now and there are a few patches left yet. Jim

Here's mine, been reliably getting the job done for a few thousand years.

I guess that's cheap on fuel as well.

I'm just getting to know mine, first year, but I can tell you exhaust fumes are an issue for me - and it doesn't help that I have asthma. It is nice to be out of the wind though. I wear a mask now to help with the fumes. I've thought about extending the exhaust up above the top of the cab - it may help.

A little late to this thread, but finally got some good pics of my snow herd. Have a c141 with blower, 702 with blade, 401 with blade, and a 867 with grader blade. Whatever these can't handle my dad's 06 Silverado does. lol
