I doubt there's many flaws in it!... Heck, I doubt there's any flaw in it.

Denny, i think I'm just like you. we can always see the flaws in our own work and not seem to see them in others......

this is the only one i have close up, the one in question is on the right.

the tractor itself was one of the nicest ones I've started with, the biggest hurdle was reviving the engine. that was the challenge on this build.....

at first the engine looked like a boat anchor and it was a gamble throwing money into missing parts and replacing bad ignition components.

sometimes it would be nice if it was that easy Terry, just watch it happen on TV. I guess we sort of do that on the forum here, i watch all you guys build them, you guys watch me. just takes more than a couple episodes for it to happen.......

Yeah, I almost cried the first time I saw it unveiled.  :laughing-rolling:

Now there's a reality show!

Just need to get you and half dozen other of our Master Restorers together.

Then hijack a deserving members tractor.

you guys are probably getting sick of pics of this one, but i don't care!  :wwp:  :wwp:

i took it out in the sun for some seat time and pics this afternoon.

this drives the best of any one I've ever had, the jd front axle/spindles and vredestein 5 ribs is an awesome combination. almost no effort at all to steer and very smooth.

actually the tractor is a very nice driver overall and i can't wait to get back on it again......

Never get tired of looking at Wheel Horse pictures, especially this one. Now sit it on a pedestal, place a full size mirror on the pedestal and cover it with glass.

I am fairly certain you have set the bar that many members (me included) will be fruitlessly trying to match for years to come.

got home today and these were in the driveway.........

hmmmm......

attachicon.gifIMG_2924.JPG

I saw these in your picture. Who are the tires by and what size? I wanted to put this same tread on mine but the sizes I saw fit only JD rims, not my WH rims. I have a 312-8 -1995.  Thxs

They are Carlisle All Trail 23 x 10.50-12 on 12 x 8.5 wheels. in my opinion you really need the 8.5 wheels for this size tire. you would probably have the 12 x 7 wheels on a 312 if they are oem.

i see they make a 23 x 8.00 -12 but not seeing an 23 x 8.5-12.

23 x 8.5-12 or 23 x 9.5-12 is probably best on the 12 x 7 wheels.

oh, and they are on JD rims that the centers were cut out and moved to the same offset as Wheel Horse, but don't tell anybody. A set of Wheel Horse 12 x 8.5 rims will work too.......

That was done for Karl back in the early days of RS.... sadly most of those pictures are gone.

Maybe Karl or Eldon can revive some of those pics and put them at the end of the threads.

Well I learned a lesson on that one. I took it apart two years ago. It's all painted and ready to go back together. Only problem is that I need to find all the small pieces and such that are strewn around the shop. Soon as I fix a few things on the last three I got I will start the 417 reconstruction. At least I have two 416h's to use as a guide.
