oldblue1993 98 #1 Posted October 13, 2013 My son has been serching for a wheel horse and when he seen this in a scrap pile ready to be crushed he had to have it, so 50 bucks later and having to get a loader to remove it from the pile here it is back in a barn and soon to be a winter resto project. I know shes rough but everything is there and under the dirt grime and rust its not in to bad of shape.
Sparky-(Admin) 19,455 #4 Posted October 13, 2013 So what are we looking at (pics are kinda small). Is it a Raider 10 or 12? Looks like a Tecumseh under the hood. Nice to see it didn't get crushed! Mike.........
"D"- Man 827 #5 Posted October 13, 2013 (edited) Complete (and if engine and tranny not froze-up) $50.00 is a steal. Looks like a Raider 12, engine shroud looks like it's a Kohler, but pics are not clear enough to tell, Mark. Edited October 13, 2013 by TWIN54
oldblue1993 98 #6 Posted October 13, 2013 Sorry guys it was dark out by the time we got done, Its a raider 12, had the 12 hp kohler sitting next to it "got that on the bench" it has a kohler 8 hp on it. Nothing is froze and all turns by hand, The drive belt broke off when we hooked the chain to lift it so I just turned the drive pulley by hand and all seems good . The deck under it is shot"but wasn't like I would let the boy mow with it". He is super stoked and I know with what we got it will all be good. The guys at the scrap heap even went out and found him a nice seat for it, They made his day it was great.

i967mustang 21 #11 Posted October 15, 2013 I saved the blue one (Charger 12 auto) from the scrap yard, had to pay $120 for it but it ran and drove when I brought it home. The deck was shot so I just use it for a plow tractor. The red C160 has been repainted and it still has all the original stickers on it, if you mask them off good you can paint the tractor peel the tape then clear over everything. I saved the stickers on the blue one too, but they aren't as nice as the ones on the C160. http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/uploads/monthly_10_2013/post-11811-0-62876300-

stevasaurus 22,229 #13 Posted October 17, 2013 I've managed to save a couple from the scrap heap. I know how it feels to be 10 feet off the ground. Very cool save and a great story.
oldblue1993 98 #14 Posted October 21, 2013 (edited) Well my nine year old got some paint on her, the new belt in and engine sorta wired "I guess I helped a little". He has got a lot more work to do but least he can cruise the town before the snow flies. Edited October 21, 2013 by oldblue1993
