Jeff-C175 7,195 #2 Posted July 25, 2013 Is the engine running OK? or are you getting black smoke? Fuel leakage from carbs is often a problem with the FLOAT, or the FLOAT NEEDLE valve.
diesel cowboy 263 #3 Posted July 25, 2013 You might have a pinhole in the bowl thats making it leak. Run into that from time to time on the older tractors. Hope this helps. Stewart

MalMac 1,328 #5 Posted July 25, 2013 Like said before, check the bowl for small pin holes by taking it off and shining a light through it. Also I have seen very small spider cracks develop around the hole on the bottom of the carb. When the bowl is off you do not see them, when you tighten it up the the pressure opens them up enough to cause a annoying leak.
bartl 0 #6 Posted July 26, 2013 Make sure the fiber or rubber washer/gasket at the center of the bowl is on the INSIDE, between the bowl and the carburetor body, not on the outside.
