Did you take off the head end of the generator and look inside? Usually a couple screws and its off. My neighbor had one that was only putting out on one leg and it turned out that one of the push button fuses had expired but not in the tripped position. They make connections under there with wire-nuts at the factory which dont hold up to well to vibration. I would start by getting in there and giving everything a close inspection.

Agree with Mike, 99% of troubleshooting is VISUAL.  Most of the time you can SEE the problem!

I took the panel off and had a look inside, tried to find some voltage with no luck. No wire nuts in this one, its all crimped and screwed. No power coming off the brushes either. Did read about a $350 voltage regulator that kinda has me scared.

Sounds to me like you got a bad voltage regulator or tripped breaker.
