what is it?? starter for what?

I bought some new Wheel Horse stuff today at a show and this was in it. It came from a Wheel Horse dealer but not sure what it fits??

it has bolt pattern to fit a 4hp Kohler or a 6hp Tecky. i also found a n.o.s electric starter like the one on my 401.

I may fit all the above, but the design of the mounting ring looks like it matches the rewind pull starter on a 4 HP Clinton.

Nice find guys saw one on here awhile back on a members original condition rj  they had a photo of it can't remember whos it was hopefully they will see this and respond it was def. a early starter I think this one was on a Clinton I'll try and find it too, how was Sugarcreek?

I am probably wrong but I think stevebo has a early rj with that starter on a clinton.

Sugarcreek was good but we didnt take anything due to rain. Found this along with a bag of nos 4hp kohler stuff and a brand new complete electric starter like on my 401 so i was pumped, and a nos rj35 engine pulley. over all turn out was about half.

yea my tractor is missing the guard but i may just leave the complete starter in box and put on shelf and forget it...also in the box was the parts breakdown and how to install on a kohler motor.
