546cowboy 301 #31 Posted May 1, 2013 (edited) For some reason I am stuck in the 60's lately and I don't have a clue how I got there. 'Course the 60's is my generation. I have been thinking I would like a C-195 with 3-point and rear PTO but I haven't seen one in my area at all. The closest one I had a contact about was a member here and he was over in Ohio and he wanted more than I wanted to give. It would have been about a 600 mile round trip. See stuck in the 60's and I just picked up a 704 this morning and that's the last picture. Edited May 2, 2013 by 546cowboy

546cowboy 301 #34 Posted May 2, 2013 (edited) Yes that is power steering. The story I got was when the original owner bought the tractor he would only buy it if it had power steering, so the dealer installed that on the tractor. They put a valve in the steering shaft and the cylinder on the front. It works nice but I don't know where you would get parts for that valve. Also it was set up for LP and it ran fine but where do you put an LP bottle on it? So I converted it back to gas. So if anyone wants to buy the two regulators, the hose and the carb, I have them for sale. It also had a funky foot control on it that really didn't work very well, so I removed that too. decksetter 50 #35 Posted May 2, 2013 I'd take an 854, but I'd really like a 12 Automatic like we had when I was a kid.

Challenger 27 #38 Posted May 2, 2013 For me it would be a 523DXI with a 60" deck, and a sun shade!

The 702 had the aluminum gas tank, and it had electric start. Jake
Butch 194 #40 Posted May 2, 2013 I'd love to have another C-85. The 8hp engine I think is a pretty good workhorse and it runs forever on a tank of fuel.

608KEB 794 #43 Posted May 3, 2013 C-160 8 speed in mint condition. I like the simplicity of the B and C series. They have plenty of power for my use!
MarkPalmer 80 #44 Posted May 3, 2013 I love my 856, for a verity of reasons, Big enough to do the jobs I need done. Small enough to get through yard gates. Simple enough to repair, most of the time The parts I need can be found at the local Hardware store. Time tested technology from the 60’s that Was good enough to put a man on the moon. And face it, grass and snow hasn’t changed, That much in the last forty years. It's hard to beat that way of thinking, I feel the same way when I'm mowing and plowing snow on my 867. I grew up just south of you Joe in Crystal Lake. We used to walk the train track between CL and McHenry as kids- this being at a time when kids were smart enough to move out of the way when the train came by -Mark-
thedude 14 #45 Posted May 4, 2013 Wait, I might have to change my mind and agree with Challenger, a 523dxi with a 60", those are kick a$$!! !
Stigian 1,234 #46 Posted May 5, 2013 For me it would have to be a D-200 with a loader, 3 point and all the trimmings... Quite where would put it I don't know as I only have space for one more Wh, and if all goes to plan that space should be filled at the end of the month...
bean 85 #47 Posted May 5, 2013 I'd love to have another C-85. The 8hp engine I think is a pretty good workhorse and it runs forever on a tank of fuel. I love the 8hp kohler too. I have a 310-8, and it is a beast, but I wanted a 308-8. so, I would take any 70s or 80s mint 8hp, but preferably a 308-8 or c-
