wallfish 15,769 #4 Posted April 10, 2013 RJ-58 for both. At least there are parts of an RJ on the modified tractor. The guy went through a lot of trouble to modify that one. What are those flex pipe looking things attached to the front attachment thing? Any idea of what the handle and pulley on the right side do?

VinsRJ 721 #6 Posted April 10, 2013 Wallfish is spot on... they are both RJs... the one with the front mount whatever may even have been built in 59 as it has tha sun dial lift arm indicator.
JUSS10 250 #7 Posted April 10, 2013 I always thought those were for fertilizing as you cultivated so it put the fertilizer down in the grooves cut by the cultivator shovels.

Eriks Red horse herd 43 #9 Posted April 13, 2013 The contraption on the RJ half suburban looks to be a homeade one row fertilizer .Its missing the hopper probably rotted out due to the fertilizer. the handle and pulley was the pto for the auger and the brown looking handle on the right side is the exhaust pipe and sausage muffler. Vin could be right about a 59? the lift sector looks almost like two other tractors I've seen with that type of sector . Not like the 400 & 550 suburban. By the way nice early mower deck with the square guards.
