Wheel Horse Sign

Would anyone have an idea what this sign is worth?  The sign is approximately two foot high by 4 foot wide.  It is two sided and not damaged on either side beyond fair wear and tear.

Couple thousand.  Actually are very collectable and to the right person several hundred dollars.

Your valuation may differ, but I paid $100 for one just like that.  I had to take it down and let me tell you it wasn't the easiest thing to do from a ladder by myself.

Before you remove it, you may want to get some accurate dimensions so you can build some sort of fixture or crate to transport it in.  The ABS plastic skins aren't very strong if you plan to just lay it on one side.

I wouldn't SELL it for $100 though.

When I was given a bunch of signs a few years ago, we used a long ladder and 2 ropes. Hooked a rope around each hanger and lifted each hanger of the rod. Wasn't too hard ,but I would have a friend with some muscle on the ropes. If the wife is too light and she feels her feet coming of the ground, she will LET GO the rope !!

Really nice bit of WH memorabilia which must put it into the collectables price bracket.

Obviously difficult to put an exact value on it as a result but here's a different way of looking at it and thinking things through.

If you want one then how much would it cost to make one or have one made?

I'm guessing that would involve making a wooden pattern then having the two halves vacuum formed from sheet abs or acrylic.

You'd also have to get the vinyl lettering made.

It wouldn't be an original but if you really want one then that's what it would cost which may help you decide what a genuine one in good condition is really worth.

Just a thought that's guided me on one or two ocaasions in the past.

Andy
