How do I get the PTO belt off?

Recommended Posts

Ok, the snow is over, I think.  I want to take off the snow blower from my new GT14.  So I looked at it last night, how do I get the belt off the motor pulley?  Do I have to take somethin apart?

Thanks in advance!

I want to also add, what belt is this and where do I get a spare?   I'd like to keep a spare just in case!

Thanks

I cannot help you, since I do not have one with an electric pto clutch.  But regarding the belt just take it to an automotive shop while it is still good and they can measure it.  Make sure you tell them what it is for so they give you a belt that will handle the snow blower application.  Some people call them I believe a special duty belt.

Unplug the connector on the clutch wiring. (orange)

Remove the hitch pin clip (#17) from the clevis pin (#16)and remove the clevis pin from the clutch tab and the stop bracket. (#14)

Rotate the clutch "face" in either direction to allow the belt to be removed.

Rotating the thrower drive belt tensioner assembly against the tension of the spring should allow enough slack to remove the belt.
