RJ 58 sc.

hello my friends up north, no snow here in sc.need to know what size drive pully to put on my kolher engine going on a RJ 58. 3 speed trany wich im re-building now.parts came in today.put new bushings in and wrap it up in the morning. I had a 5in pully on it but it just wants to stand straight up. thats why it has a wheelie bar on it. I'm thinking maybe a 3in pully for less torke. please let me know if you can hellp.

2  1/2 " is the correct size pulley for it. ~Jake

Yup, 2.5" engine pulley and a 29" belt -- if you have the original trans pulley on there.

I bet a 5" pulley really gave it some speed. They're fun to steer at regular speed so you might have been bouncing off the walls with that big pulley on there.

you are right john, steering is crazy if you can keep front end on the ground long enough.
