I took a few pictures.  It was great to see everyone and meet a few new guys.  I sure would like to see more of "jwl's" collection, and ELECTRORIC had a very nice collection there...some very nice round hoods.  Great meeting and talking with you guys. WH500Special (Steve) and his dad (Tom) brought the Pond Senior and Lever Steer and a couple of others...always nice seeing them at a show. :)  Got to meet jbumgarner also...a pleasure sir.

This is my Dad's 502 that I sold to JoeBob a couple of years ago.  What a difference.  I love what he did with it.  I'll throw two before pictures in here.

I didn't bring my camera, but I think that most of the cool stuff got pictured. Had a great time meeting faces to go with the names, seeing some real nice tractors, and learning about stuff. Amazing how many people know someone you know, even though you don't know them. After a bunch of guys left mid afternoon, another friend and I went over to the flea area and I found a complete briggs engine with a perfect fuel tank, so now I can replace the mashed one on my older walker. Traded the K-91 for a big 5 David Bradley complete tractor... even up, sold my cultivator, so it was pretty much a fine outing. Only got rained on for about 5 mins during the whole time, but ran though a fairly heavy rain 20 mls west of the ground and then for the next 50 or mls. Got home about 11pm and fell asleep telling my wife of the adventurous day.

My brother David and I had the best time at the Prairieland Heritage Museum Show held in Jacksonville, Illinois this weekend.  We were amazed at the number and full variety of Wheel Horse tractors, attachments and Red Square members that attended and made this a great event !  The designation of the Wheel Horse as the garden tractor of the year brought folks for hundreds of miles -especially from Minnesota, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois and Indiana!

I have photos from three different cameras and I am posting a few for all to see.   The two highlights of the show for me were the Minnesota Red Square Members,  Joe Nelson , Jason Schahl, Terry Mooney they came a great distance and brought some great Wheel Horse tractors!

The second thing that was great to me was meeting 90 year old Earl L. McEvers of Whitehall, Illinois who came and sat with the Wheel Horse folks for half of the day on Friday and conversed with everyone he could.  He is a Wheel Horse fan (and Cub Cadet and hit and miss engines) and he was involved with the early stages of setting up the Prairieland Heritage Museum in Jacksonville, Illinois 45 years ago.   He came to the show on Friday because Wheel Horse was designated tractor of the year.   I will have another post on Earl's hit and miss road grade with some photos of a really interesting piece of machinery he made.

Now for the photos:

I don't have any pics to post, but I think everyone else has taken care of that.  I did have a great time and really enjoyed finally putting faces to names.  It was great to meet you all and hope we get a chance to meet up again.  Thanks for making me feel welcome.  Next year I will surely bring my tractors.

Thanks to everyone that posted the pics.  I'd post some of mine, but I think everything has been covered pretty well already.  There were quite a few very nice tractors there.  I enjoyed getting to meet dclarke and Martin, and see a few of the other guys in person.  I would have liked to meet more of you guys, but we chickened out when it looked like the rain was rolling in and loaded up.  The family had a really good time at the show, and would have been willing to stay longer if it hadn't been for the weather.  It shouldn't be too hard of a sell to go back down next year.

Lane,

You mentioned Earl...and on a previous post I mentioned that I sold a tractor (1057) years ago to a guy in jacksonville who later put a hit and miss engine on it. Wanna make a guess who that guy was?

I wonder if he still has it. I saw his grader years ago and still remember it distinctly. Neat guy and I'm pleased to know he's still doing well.

Earl:  Has about 8 or 9 complete Wheel Horses and parts galore for others.   He has modified several .   Motors , attachments and made two with large rear ag tires and wheels from the older International Harvester Cubs installed on Wheel Horse frames and using WH transmissions.  These were neat to see.   He had a mid 1970's tiller and a C model snowblower attachment  -both complete and in good condition that he wanted to sell also.

I wasn't there but apparently my old 54 walker and sulky made it there...  Glad to see it went to a better home with someone who has the time for it.

Well Richard,

if  you guys hadn't of had a feature garden tractor, had a good show to do it at, and  been so nice, it wouldn't have been anything to remember.  Our hats should be off to your club for hosting a place to play for the weekend.

Yes that's the tractor. I might get the number later, if I need it.

Yes Kerry,    its been re-engined, retired, the plow redone, and the sulky reconstructed, as close as I could get with having another one to work with. Both machines have now been to a show in august, and one in sept, so I can get them dirty and put them back to work. not sure when I'll take them out to another showing, as now I'm questing for ones with 16" wheels. I'll be needing a pair as I still have a cultivator and a blade with nothing to do.

Ps, did you ever find the manual?

I'm reading this and kicking myself for not going down to meet a lot of the members ,  This year maybe possible, and from the pics and threads sure sounded like Jacksonville and RS were a good mix

Hello all. I am looking for suggestions on adapting the pto from my C series tractor to a harbor freight predator 420 13hp engine. I know the predator motors are a controversial topic however it is the route I have chosen for this particular machine. The intent was to mostly use it for plowing so no PTO required but it would be handy to have. Looking to hear from someone that has successfully done the swap that may offer any advice before I attempt to transfer it over. Just looking for any general pointers that will help me along the way to make it go as smoothly as possible.

I am new to this group. I have my sons collection of Wheel Horse tractors that are definitely rare models. He still has one to pick up that’s dual wheel and was purchased from Peabody Coal Co. This is the perfect site to get involved with. The best advice comes from folks that are hands on.. had to be their own machine shop. Nothing compares to the knowledge in this group.! But my first topic is this 19hp Craftsman INDY 500 limited edition model. I was reading a topic on here about the 18hp and 20hp models, but cannot find a single replica of this tractor on ANY site or e-bay. We live near central Ohio, so I’m assuming it’s a regional release. The Briggs engine lobes like a medium cam in a V8. We thought it was an intermittent miss, but it’s not missing a bit. The engine is the strongest riding tractor I’ve ever operated. It will literally cook the deck belt in high grass before dragging the engine down. Very wide and lower to the ground. I never got the size, but the rearend is all tires.! Looks like a dragster from behind.. almost  gives the appearance of shortened axle tubes in a hot rod. Just wondering if anybodys ever seen this particular model. My next top is will be about the C160 total hydraulic Wheel Horse he just acquired. Claim they were specially made for snow removal.

New to the forum, but not to Wheel Horse. I just bought a 314-8 on the gear shift pattern there is what Toro calls a spring shift control, my 312-8 doesn't have this The 314 is a 1999, what was the purpose for this. Thanks.
