I may be all wet here, but dont you have a steel grille shell screwed in to a smooth cast iron weight? The hood should be two seperate pieces welded together to make one. This pic shows how it should look unbolted from the tractor. Yours appears to be two seperate pieces that attaches together at the weight.

I find it highly unlikely an average person could melt down 85lbs of iron and pour it into a mold and make this. But even if it is not a true wheelhorse factory part it is still a one off which is very cool and if it turns out to be a true part then it will still be a one off that noone knew existed either way its a win in my book

What you have here is someone took the hood to a foundery and they made a sand mold of the front of the hood and cast it then took the hood a part and used the cast weight as the front of the hood instead

of the sheet metal front

not a bad idea as you need to remove the weight to get the original hood off

I think the tranz pulley is on backwards too.

Where are you going to put the gas tank? :scratchead:

thanks for that i pulled it off and it was on backwards the set screw threads were broken also so i am on the hunt for a new one are there any options for a new one or is original the only way to go

An original pulley seems to fit the best.

Pulley #1611 was used on a bunch of the three speeds and should be easy to find.

I'd like to see how it's mounted. I find it highly unlikely that one machine screw or even a 3/8" bolt would hold 85lbs in place for very long.
