Question about PTO pulley on C-121

Recommended Posts

Is the PTO pulley supposed to spin even when the PTO clutch is not engaged? Mine does, is there an adjustment necessary?

Mine spin if there are no belts attached to the pulleys but if a belt is on like for a mower deck or snow blower, it doesn't. I suppose I could adjust the pto brake alittle better and it might not spin.

Mine all spin when disengaged and there are no attachments on the machine such as a deck. I would take off the PTO, make sure its greased correctly (not to much!) and put it back together and not worry about it.

The PTO should have a brake on it. If it is not properly adjusted, or the PTO is not fully disengaging, it will continue to spin. Take a look at the PTO brake adjustment procedure in your owners manual. It's on page 24. If you don't have a manual, one can be downloaded from the manuals section.

Even thought the title says B-Series, it covers the C-121
