That looks looks like a nice deal.... I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.

Well this thing ran well enough to do a little work over the last yr, but I parked it in the goat barn and had not much use for it till this spring so it's back to work.

You have to crank this thing for a long time then it will fire. As long as it is hot, it will start again. But it got to be a real PITA so I got a HF 301cc 8hp clone.

Its sitting on a stump waiting to be bolted I to place.... 2 yrs and 90 days worth of replacement warranty for 50 bucks.

I took the 181 off it with the wire harness and all ready to sell to the first sucker.....um... I mean enthusiast that wants it.

lol

I will update when the clone is running and working.

I have to cut the hood but not a big deal, its a work horse not a show pony.

Could be. IIRC they don't make rebuild kits for them or at least the kohler dealer parts dept said they don't have them nor can they get em.

My nephew is restoring a wheel horse oldie so maybe he will buy my engine setup for that project.

Or I can trade em for something useful.

We ran it all day today, hauling and pulling. If the HF engine works as well as it did today then that'll be great. Starts easy runs strong.....more than enough power for that sized tractor. We hauled some heavy stuff today up some rough cow paths, the engine didnt choke once.

If it does, it has 2 yrs and 80 days to choke. lol

Seems like a good engine. It starts easy enough to start it from a seated position. I'm impressed, considering most of the substandard junk HF sells.

Who makes the clone engine that you guys are talking about? Sounds like everyone is happy with it.

I think the clone they were referring to is the Chinese-made Predator engine sold by Harbor Freight stores.

Oh, okay. If it were American made, I'd get one.

Unfortunately then it wouldn’t be as cheap. I’ve had many of those engines and never had an issue.

Those clone engines are cloned from a Honda engine.
