papa 0 #1 Posted July 29, 2008 Does the '60 400 use the OEM Kohler K91 fuel tank? I've not measured either, nor been able to directly compaired them, but they sure do look similar.
DMESS 24 #2 Posted July 29, 2008 They are close in appearance, but unique. I suppose the Kohler tank might work in a pinch but the mounting straps would need to be altered to fit it properly. The Suburban tanks show up on ebay from time to time and you could also post a wanted add in our classified section. By the way, B)
linen beige 14 #3 Posted July 29, 2008 The Suburban tank measures roughly 9 1/2 inches long x 6 5/8 inches wide x 5 inches high. The 2 Kohler tanks i have measure roughly 9 1/2 inches long x 5 1/4 inches wide x 4 inches high. The Kohler tanks look like they would work, but, as Dustin said, you would have to alter (shorten) the straps. The WH tank is part # 1785 and was used on the RJ-58, RJ-59, 400, 550, 401, and 551. As Dustin said, they do show up on Ebay from time to time. I'm not positive, but I think Kohler used a tank that was closer to the size of the Suburban tank on the K-141, K-161, and K-181?
