I dont have a puller but i would like to get more out of the 520 for the long straights in my yard.Should i go with a smaller trans pulley ? Or larger ?..need some advise..ty :auto-biker:

A smaller pulley would spin the pump faster, but I'm not sure you want to do that. Spinning it faster will generate more heat and heat kills hydros.

Have you checked your linkages to make sure your getting full forward ? Theres a thread on here about changing the internal gear to get more ground speed out of them.

I have a C-175Auto with a slightly larger engine pulley and it does go about 1 or 2 MPH faster then the average hydro. However I wouldn't recommend much more then that. I think the pulley is about 1/4-1/2 inch larger in diameter I can't say for sure it's been too long since I did it.

Now if you have an 8-speed that is a different...
