417A electrical problem

Recommended Posts

I had not started the tractor since the middle of the summer. Today I went to start it and evidently there is no power when the switch is turned on.

The amp gauge does not move. I checked and there is power across the starter solinoid and engine will turn over with screwdriver across posts but of course no spark. Fuses are ok, or I should say the 2 smaller fuses are ok...I was looking at the wireing diagram for my 520 and it shows another 30A fuse...is there another fuse in the 417A?

I checked out the switch and it appears ok. Seat and pto safeties are bypassed..

Anyone got a clue??? Gonna snow soon and need to get the ol girl running

1986 diagram shows a 25 amp fuse feeding the ignition switch and from there a 15 amp fuse feeding the gauges, circuit board and lights.

Don't have a 1985 diagram.
